What a wonderful site. My boys will not go quietly into the night. Boston is now tied with the Yankees for top honors in the league.

A New Season Begins

Thursday, September 29, 2005

The new season of Smallville starts today. It is really going to be a good one. Clark is really starting to become Superman and all of the questions that he has been searching for are finally going to be answered. I hope anyway. I would encourage any and all to watch.

Purpose

Wednesday, September 28, 2005
A Site for people with honest questions about the spiritual package that they have been handed.

I am a person who loves answers. I like to know them and I love finding them in everything. Because of that I have been finding Christianity difficult. The anwers are not always clear cut. We live in a formula world. Christianity does not go by formulas. Honestly, I think that is what I really love about it. I am not talking about religion, but about Christ. He came and turned everything upside down. Being a follower of Christ is really living opposite of everything our world and even our own minds wants us to. But you know what...who ever said that being a Christian was safe, and easy?

Reality TV

Reality TV?

What is it that we like about reality TV? We will watch it knowing that it is probably staged and scripted, but we cannot turn our heads away. My wife and I will watch reality TV all day long (although she could do it longer). But really, why do we watch? Do we like to see if they do the same things that we do? Do we like to see if there will be a fight? I don’t know, but I guess until I figure it out, I guess that I will keep watching.

What a View

Monday, September 26, 2005

Isn't that just a great view. I like to start my day looking at good things, don't you? You can just look out and feel what God felt when He said, "It is good". Just stare at it.

Dare Not To Compare.

Saturday, September 24, 2005

I have been reading "Searching for God Knows What" by Donald Miller and in one of his chapters he talks about the need that each of us have to compare ourselves to everyone around us. This longing or desire to rank ourselves based on people around us. He states that each of us are searching for fulfillment from someone or everyone in our world. Why do we do this? I know that he is right...I do this all the time. Most of the time I am not doing this to put anyone else down, I am just trying to place myself up. Miller blames this on the fall in the Garden, and that each of us are programed to find our place and fulfillment from God. In the Garden that happened and because of sin we don't automatically get that from God anymore.
I wonder what it would look like if we as a people looked to God for our place and fulfillment instead of each other. What would our world look like? Depression would not exsist...suicide would be just a word in a dictionary. Why aren't we telling everyone about this? I think that everyone would agree that this would be a good thing to learn. Think about it and try it yourself. Then tell someone else.
